On Saturday, June 13, 2020, Beyond Blindness, a nonprofit organization serving children with visual impairments, hosted a live broadcast at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina in Newport Beach to celebrate its 16th Annual Destination Independence 5K Walk.

Distance learning can be hard for a lot of students, and parents, during the pandemic. But it can be even harder for kids who are blind. Our KNX Hero of the Week is helping those students not only get through their classes, but to succeed. 19 year-old Lucie Courtois is a senior at Corona Del Mar High School. She's planning on graduating in June, and going to college.
